Learn the Art of Interviewing Influencers from a Radio Pro

3 Decades of Interview Experience in 1 Course!

"Jeff Brown is one of the best interviewers I have ever known."

Chris Brogan, successful blogger, marketer, and New York Times bestselling author

Hi, I'm Jeff Brown, a veteran award-winning broadcaster and successful podcaster. In fact, my podcast Read to Lead has been nominated Best Business Podcast no less than three times.

This course had its first iteration nearly three years ago. Its content has been taught live to large groups and, more recently, in many, many one-on-one coaching calls over the past two years.

This set of lessons is specifically designed to help you take your interview skills - whether for you blog, podcast, or YouTube channel - to an entirely new level.

I'll share with you the same concepts and techniques I teach my one-on-one coaching clients (and for thousands less), all gleaned from my nearly 30 years experience as a radio professional and, now, award-nominated podcaster.

First, I'd like to ask if you can you answer "Yes" to any of these questions?

- Do you struggle with knowing how much of yourself to inject into your interviews?

- Do you struggle with knowing when to ask follow up questions and when to just shut up and move on?

- Do you worry you won't sound confident and sure of yourself when interviewing others?

- Has it been tough to cajole your interviewees into sharing your conversation with their audience; or are they slow to introduce you to others in their sphere of influence? Wouldn't it be awesome if they did both without you even having to ask?

- Are many of your requests for interviews being responded to with a "no," or going unanswered altogether?

- Whether a podcast, blog or YouTube channel, is your content not getting the kind of attention you expected to the point you're beginning to question whether or not to continue?

One of the greatest benefits of conducting interviews is the powerful networking opportunities it provides. Too many content creators, though, don't understand the importance of making the most of each connection (the interview) as it's happening. If your strategy is to come to your interview with nothing more than curiosity and a rough idea of what you want to accomplish, good luck creating something people will actually want to listen to, watch, or read.

That's why I stress the importance of the Four Pillars (or Four Ps) of great interviews. This course will cover:

  • Preparation - I'll share my proven preparation process, from question writing and research, to creating a proper Interview Rundown, and crafting the kind of email correspondence that will increase the likelihood of getting a "yes" from the guests you seek
  • Practice - I'll outline the steps you need to take to ready your interview space and put yourself in the right frame of mind before an interview begins, ensuring you're ready to "knock it out of the park" every time
  • Performance - In this module (my personal favorite), you'll learn interview techniques the pros use - and that 99% of interviewers aren't even aware of - that will make your interviews the kind your listeners, viewers, readers and guests will tell others about, putting your content in an elite, and memorable, group
  • Polish - Here, you'll learn how to tell the difference between the interview moments that should stay from the ones better left on the cutting room floor
